Francesca Fiaschetti and Geoffrey Humble took part in the Annual Conference of the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) that was held in Philadelphia on March 27-30, 2014. They presented papers on "The missing border: the construction of foreign lands in Yuan sources" and "Conquerors’ Qualities? Reading Elements of ‘Mongol’ Identities and Social Capital in Yuanshi Biographical Narratives".
The papers were included in the panel “Shifting Boundaries of Empire and Identity in Song-Yuan China and Beyond” organized by Francesca Fiaschetti.
